Read or Die!

Please give back my book! Welcome, fellow readers, the newly revamped ReadorDie.org, a domain dedicated to the OVA series Read or Die and the TV series Read or Die - the TV -. Poke around, change how the site looks, or if the body font is too small, you can use the "T+/-" graphics above to adjust the text accordingly.

For those of you who have seen Read or Die on the Adult Swim

To clarify, what was aired on the Adult Swim was a three-episode Original Video Animation (OVA) that was edited into one long segment. OVA is a direct-to-video release, so this was never aired on TV in Japan. Instead, it was released on three VHS/DVDs. In North America, the OVA is available on one DVD. Manga Entertainment, who distributes the OVA, had considered editing the episodes into one segment, but opted to have the show in three episodes, as it was orginally intended.

If you have time, do wander over to Dreams of Twilight, which provides more information on Read or Dream than my site. They also have forums for you to discuss the OVA and TV series.

Everything should be working now. Updated the merchandise section a bit with some links.

Sunday, October 24, 2004

Hi everyone, I see you have found my little fansite after seeing it on Adult Swim! Welcome! I realize I haven't updated in a while. School and new job obligations come first. But I will try to update in a few days if I can! Someone kindly informed me that my email form isn't working. In the meantime, please direct comments to thepaper(at)readordie.org (replacing '(at)' with the proper symbol, of course). Thank you!

I have allotted more bandwidth to the site to accommodate the sudden influx of traffic. Right now the server I'm on is having problems with Apache and MySQL, so please be patient if things aren't working properly. I have removed the statistics log from the index, so at least the main site is functioning, but the media section is not working at the moment. Anything that uses MySQL isn't working right now. I am aware of this and there isn't anything I can do except submit a support ticket to my webhost. Thanks for your understanding!

Also, I am the new owner of the Read or Die Yahoo! Group, so please join that or Read or Die LiveJournal Community for R.O.D discussion. I have removed the old BBS because it isn't active enough and I do not have time to moderate it anymore.

I've been sitting on this for months, so I decided to upload it anyway. The media section has been revamped. Some images have been taken offline because I would like to rescan or recap them. If you previously registered at the old media section, you'll need to register again. Sorry about that!

I hadn't realized that the links to the lyrics in the Read or Die - the TV - section were broken. Those links have been fixed.

If you can read this, it means the DNS has transferred and the server move was successful. Huzzah!

Saturday, July 3, 2004

I re-added an old theme, Beatmania to the themes section.

New links: Miss Deep Fanlisting, R.O.D. Fanlisting, AnimeNewsNetwork: AX 2002 Panel, AnimeNFo.com, DVDAnime.net OVA Review, DVD.Net.AU OVA Review, DVDVision Japan, GreenCine, PopMatters (R.O.D review)

Updated the links section with a few more Read or Die links.

New reference article on Jean-Henri Fabre. There's also a new theme called Get In My Hair.

Hi there! I decided to work on the site again! So what's new? ReadorDie.org's HTML code has been reworked from the ground up. I want all my future layouts to validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict, so it had to be done. The themes script has been upgraded, so now there's only one layout available. Yep, new theme, starring Ms. Deep in a bikini: Everyday Should Be A Holiday (inspired by the Dandy Warhols). As soon as I recode the CSS for the other layouts, they will be back.

I've removed the guestbook, because I got tired of the porn spam. Thank you to all the real fans who left comments over the past two years. I am planning on removing the BBS and changing the gallery script soon. Anyway, the R.O.D webring is no more. No one joined it, so it shall not be missed.

Some new things: I added more to the OVA character section, and updated Japanese production staff listing. I also added the English production staff list. I edited some files and added some more manga information, as well as updated the manga character page.

There is a section on the Read or Die TV series, but it's pretty sparse right now, unfortunately.
